Compounding Pharmacy

Fairfax, Virginia

Permit plans for a new compounding pharmacy in Fairfax is already in the city for review.  The team in MEP Designs provided engineering services for the 2,300-SF space.  The new pharmacy will have compounding labs in compliance with various levels of The United States Pharmacopeia compounding standards (USP795, USP797, and USP800).

Our engineers worked closely with the owners, architect and contractor to ensure performance criterion are met.  Design of compounding labs require extensive levels of air-changes per hour, while maintaining specific levels of room-to-room pressurization, according to the lab classification, e.g. sterile vs non-sterile, and hazardous-compounding vs non-hazardous-compounding.

   

 

Pump Stations Electrical & SCADA Design

MEP Designs team developed a niche for the design of electrical systems, SCADA and controls for municipal pump and PRV stations.  Our engineers recently completed the engineering design of the following projects for various clients and prime engineering firms:

  • Potomac Yard Pressure Zone (PRV) Station for Virginia American Water – Alexandria Main Service Area.
  • Brickyard Pump Station for Prince William County, Virginia
  • Beaumeade PRV Station for Loudoun County, Virginia

In addition to electrical engineering, our engineers provided process flow chart, PLC Controller input/output points list, conduit routing details, control panels details, short circuit and arc-flash analysis, and mechanical ventilation analysis and design.

 
 

Multi-Agency Service Park for Montgomery County, Maryland

The Montgomery County Multi Agency Service Park, East Side Project Construction is completed.  The major design build project which was awarded to the Hensel Phelps team in June 2015, included MEP Designs Inc. as the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineers. The project will provide new residence for the maintenance divisions of both the county public schools (MCPS) and the Maryland-National Planning & Parks Commission (MNCPPC).  The new facilities includes 6 new buildings; with total area exceeding 235,000-SF; in addition to covered parking and storage areas. MEP Designs engineers have recently completed LEED documentation for four buildings that are seeking different levels of certification.

Allenwood Elementary School

Mechanical System Upgrades

Our engineers have completed the design or MEP systems renovation in Allenwood Elementary School in Prince George’s County. The new HVAC systems include VRF and Energy Recovery Systems in the classrooms, library and administration areas and a single zone VAV system in the Multipurpose Room. HVAC control systems are BACNET compliant and designed to communicate with PGPS energy management system.  The new systems offers improved performance, comfort, and energy utilization. MEP Designs Inc. Engineers have provided engineering for several public and private schools in Maryland and Virginia, including Andrew Jackson Middle School, Samuel Massie Elementary School, William Hall Elementary School, Prince William Academy, and Groveton Elementary School.
